Begin with a visit to the striking Shinkyo Bridge, a sacred vermilion bridge spanning the Daiya River and marking the entrance to Nikko's UNESCO World Heritage area.Continue to Nikko Toshogu Shrine, the ornate mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu, founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate. Admire the richly decorated buildings, detailed carvings and renowned features, including the Three Wise Monkeys and the Sleeping Cat. The journey then follows scenic mountain roads towards Kegon Waterfall, one of Japan's most famous waterfalls. Plunging nearly 100 metres into the valley below, it offers spectacular views in every season.The final stop is Lake Chuzenji, a tranquil mountain lake created by the volcanic activity of nearby Mount Nantai.
