As you walk along the city's historic canals, you'll hear numerous urban legends about Amsterdam.Near these waterways, you'll discover the stories behind several historical landmarks: Sjakoo's Fort, named after a local Robin Hood figure who was captured; the historic theatre of Amsterdam, which no longer stands; and the Rasphuis, a prison where offenders were rehabilitated through enforced labour. You'll also see a house marked with bloodstains, left by a wealthy individual who lost his sanity and marked the stones with his blood and crude religious symbols.
