Thanks to the onboard audio guide, every corner you turn reveals a new chapter in the city’s story, transforming a scenic vista into a living chronicle of Amsterdam's evolution.At certain points, you'll put on a pair of virtual reality glasses, instantly transporting you back to Amsterdam in the 1650s. Despite remaining seated, you'll find yourself immersed in bustling streets, lively waterfront scenes, and historically accurate canal-side buildings. These animated sequences are synchronised with your actual location on the cruise route. So when you remove the headset, you're back in present-day Amsterdam, able to compare what has endured, disappeared or transformed right where it occurred.The entire journey lasts approximately an hour and a quarter, featuring around 15 minutes of virtual reality spread across seven distinct animations. The majority of the cruise is experienced without the headset, allowing you to unwind, absorb the real cityscape, and then plunge back into history as each new VR segment commences.
