You can also just watch, make notes, and take pictures, whatever you prefer. All local families speak at least some basic English, so you'll have the possibility to chat and ask questions about daily life in Vietnam. Feel free to share some things about yourself and your home country. Most local families find it very interesting to hear about other cultures.

* It is customary to take off your shoes before entering a house. Adapt your clothes to the local culture. In bigger cities, they are more open-minded than in the countryside. Too much skin is not appreciated anywhere
